Putin’s epoch-making op-ed piece, published yesterday, 9/11/13, in the New York Times, and which is said to have infuriated key members of Congress, is the best thing that I have ever seen about the only path to peace that is available to us as a whole planet: international cooperation. I have archived it here: V. Putin on International Cooperation
The law is still the law, and we must follow it whether we like it or not. Under current international law, force is permitted only in self-defense or by the decision of the Security Council. Anything else is unacceptable under the United Nations Charter and would constitute an act of aggression.
In the past, this is the kind of insight and intention that we expected and recieved from American presidents. How is it that in the present, America has become the proponent of unilateral force, each use of which undermines our capacity to arrive at an enduring peace through international cooperation? V. Putin is, in real time, the visionary leader that Barak Obama only talks about and pretends to be.
Pepe Escobar on Putin and Obama: “Mr. Putin is playing political chess at the highest level. And Mr. Obama at the moment is playing checkers with himself and losing.” source
Vishveshwar on Obama and Syria: This proposed military intervention in Syria’s civil war never made any geopolitical sense. Its only political value was in being so outrageous that in the national and international debate that resulted, and which Obama deliberately protracted by dithering around with Congress about foreign policy, which is his by the division of powers in the Constitution, the critical Snowden issues, which will only fester by being ignored in this way, were temporarily buried. In other words, for Obama’s purposes, Syria has simply been the mother of all bandaids for Snowden, and this is a geopolitical strategy from hell, if it is a strategy at all.
The only possible outcome from the above nonsense is that Obama will wind up losing everywere, both on Snowden and on Syria, because he is losing on both issues to the same geopolitical genius: Vladimir Putin.
Hillary Clinton, he doesn’t deserve it, but please have another lunch with your idiot child, and this time attempt to kick the first basic of geopolitics through his thick skull.
